It’s NOT Therapeutically possible to diffuse CBD Oil.
However, it’s not really “therapeutically” possible to diffuse CBD oil and you will not benefit from any of the health benefits by diffusing CBD.
The key problem with trying to diffuse the medicinal effects of CBD into the air is that CBD is a cannabinoid. Cannabinoids are a substantially heavier molecule than the scent molecules you’d typically try to disperse through the air and they will remain behind when the diffusion process is complete.
If you are going to diffuse CBD, one important thing to remember is to NOT, under any circumstances, use a tincture. Though CBD tinctures might sound similar, a tincture is actually made from an extract suspended in an alcohol solution, which could cause some serious problems if you try to diffuse it into the air. Unlike a CBD oil that’s actually infused in a carrier oil, such as MCT oil, sunflower seed oil or even hemp seed oil. Even better, use a cannabis scented candle.
If you want the smell of hemp throughout your house but don’t feel like smoking some CBD flower, feel free to use some cannabis oil in a diffuser. You won’t get high or receive any real effects (other than maybe some soothing aromatherapy), but you will create a nascent smell of cannabis that can dissipate inside your home.
For the therapeutic benefits of CBD, simply vape it, smoke it or put CBD oil directly under your tongue. Although, the full spectrum taste is distinctive and can occasionally require a quick drink of water afterward, Pure CBD oil is odorless and tasteless. Taking CBD orally is a great way to get the medicinal effects of hemp cannabis without having to deal with the smoky aftertaste of a toke from a joint.
Whatever your preferred methods or reasons, proper diffusion of cannabis sadly isn’t possible due to the molecular structure of the substances within the plant. However, if all you’re after is the smell of the cannabis plant, then common garden variety diffusers are perfectly suited to disperse the smell of musky cannabis throughout your home. Or you might buy some CBD flower and smoke it for that faint smell of cannabis in your home or bake it.

Can I Diffuse CBD Oil?
Aromatherapy and oil diffusers have been around for many years, and both have seen an increase in popularity recently. Diffusing essential oils is believed by many individuals to provide strong medicinal effects, like alleviating anxiety.
However, essential oils aren’t the only thing people add to their diffusers. Since CBD oil gained national prominence, individuals have been adding it to their oil diffusers as well. But is this really effective? Let’s first explore oil diffusion, how it works, the different types — and then we’ll dive into CBD oil diffusion.
What Is Oil Diffusion?
Oil diffusion is the fluid movement from a higher concentration area to a lower concentration area. Diffusion is what results from the particles of matter kinetic properties. The particles will combine until they’ve been distributed evenly. You can also think of diffusion as the particle movement down a concentration gradient.
One example of diffusion that’s quite common is distributing a spoonful of sugar in a hot cup of coffee or tea. It first dissolves, and then goes on to spread through the liquid. You can also take the spreading of the scent of perfume throughout the air in a room as another example.
How Does Oil Diffusion Works?
Diffusion is the process where molecules are sent from one area to another. In oil diffusers, these particles move with heat (thermal) energy application. They randomly move about and after a bit, this random motion results in uniform distribution of the various particles. Increased pressure or temperature will enhance the rate of diffusion.
What are the Types of Oil Diffusers?
Several types of oil diffusers include:
With evaporative diffusers, you drop oil onto the diffuser’s permeable pad, so it can evaporate into the air. Certain evaporative diffusers have fans that help encourage the process. This is the simplest and most affordable diffusion method. It’s suitable only if you want to distribute the scent.
Also cost-effective and simple are heat diffusers which add heat to the process of evaporation. Heat diffusers involve candle flame heating up the oil, which causes the scent of the oil to disperse into the air.
These aromatherapy diffusers use electricity to disperse oil into the air. The essential oil particles are broken down into their base molecules. The molecules are then negatively charged, so they disperse by connecting the positively charged molecules.
Water is used in ultrasonic diffusers as a transference mechanism, but they don’t rely on steam. Instead, the essential oil will sit on top of the water, and the diffuser begins sending off ultrasonic vibrations that agitate the water, and cause the oil molecules to separate and release negative particles into a fine mist in the air.
Can I Diffuse CBD Oil?
While essential oils are loaded with super lightweight scent molecules that are diffused easily into the air through water vapor, CBD oil is loaded with CBD (cannabidiol). And, this is a far heavier molecule than scent molecules. Essentially, it’s too heavy to diffuse around your area with water vapor.
While you can’t diffuse CBD oil by itself, you could always take other steps to fill your area with CBD. For instance, you could vaporize terpenes in your oil diffuser. Your entire area will have your favorite relaxing scent profile, without you having to smoke it in a bowl. It might not necessarily engage with your endocannabinoid system like if you were to ingest CBD oil, but the scent of a hemp plant alone can be just enough to relax your body and mind, and ease anxiety.
Of course, you could simply consume CBD oil or a tincture through your food or mouth. While they have a distinctive taste, and you might require a drink afterward, they’re an ideal way of obtaining CBD’s medicinal effects, without having to smoke it. Or, you can try a different approach – a CBD pillow.
CBD Pillow for Anxiety and Sleep
A CBD pillow, which you can purchase at CBDPillow.com, is another great way of using CBD to ease your anxiety. Our pillows at CBDPillow.com are infused with a micro-encapsulation technology where CBD microcapsules (millions of them) are embedded into the pillow. You receive a slow release of CBD microdoses over the course of the night, unlike with edibles or topicals where the effects wear off after several hours.
You absorb the CBD into your skin, and you also absorb it through your hair follicles while you’re sleeping; this helps ease your anxiety, and regulate your sleep.
There is 99% pure crystalline CBD isolate in our microcapsules, which means you do not get any THC, which has the psychoactive effects. Our CBD comes from industrial hemp, and is a transdermal CBD application. We’ve had extensive third-party lab testing, which uses a Franz cell test on skin that determines how effective the CBD absorption is. And, after extensive lab testing, it was determined each of our CBD pillows still had up to 14% above the CBD’s guaranteed amount after washing the pillow 20 times.

Can You Put CBD Oil In A Diffuser
Aromatherapy has a long and diverse history, which explains why we’ve seen such a sharp resurgence in its popularity. Every day people are turning away from candles and air fresheners for the much more natural, healthier, and inexpensive oil diffusers.
Even though we all enjoy using diffusers in our homes with essential oils, there’s also a rising interest in using CBD oil diffusers as well. CBD supports many health and wellness benefits, but is it still effective when used in a diffuser? CBD oil can be diffused. But is it still effective when used in a diffuser?
What Is Aromatherapy and How Does it Work?
Aromatherapy is a simple and effective way of brightening our day. By using a diffuser with our essential oils, we can create a profoundly therapeutic effect that helps us relax and de-stress in the comfort of our own homes.
There are many different types of diffusers we can use, but typically people tend to prefer cold air diffusers because they don’t evaporate the essential oils as quickly as other variations.
Aromatherapy works by releasing essential oils as a vapor into the air that then enters the body through our respiratory systems. The scents then connect with the limbic system, which is where emotions and memories are processed. This system lets us associate various scents with positive or negative memories.
Different Ways to Use Diffusers
There are many different ways we can use a diffuser to impact our environment. For example, if you are having trouble sleeping, then diffusing essential oils is perfect for you. By diffusing oils like lavender or chamomile, we’re able to create an environment that encourages sleep.
When we’re trying to create a peaceful environment around us, we can use citrus-based essential oils to help encourage a more positive environment. Through the use of oils, you can help to create a space that is calming and peaceful.
CBD Oils and Diffusers
While many people enjoy using CBD oils and aromatherapy, it is important to know if you can use CBD oil in your diffuser. The molecules from CBD oil are heavier than the molecules in most essential oils, so diffusing CBD is very different from the typical oils we use.
There has not been much research done on the effects of using CBD oil in a diffuser. It is typically odorless, meaning we won’t get the same type of stimulation that we would from diffusing an essential oil. So, the question relates more to the health benefits of diffused CBD oil.
The biggest determining factor is the type of diffuser that we use. As previously mentioned, there are many different types of diffusers available and since they work differently the results will differ as well. Researching the different diffusers is important before buying, especially if you are planning to use CBD oil in the diffuser.
Aromatherapy is great for anyone wanting some stress relief, sleep aid, mental clarity, and almost any other forms of mood alterations. If you use CBD oil in a diffuser you don’t have to worry about any psychoactive effects since it contains no THC. More research is needed to determine if we receive health benefits from CBD oil being used through a diffuser, but many people have anecdotally said it had a positive effect.

Hey there, I don’t ever recommend using an oil burner as a means of diffusion but only water base diffusers.
